The Konjac Sponge Company The Elements Fire Facial Sponge - Purifying Volcanic Scoria 30g
Konjac – or Konnyaku – is a tuber (a bit like a potato) that’s native to Asia and has long played a role in the skin care regimes of those living in China, Japan and Korea. Naturally alkaline to keep skin beautifully balanced, The Konjac Sponge Company’s pure konjac sponges are pure and entirely free from pollutants (you won’t find any artificial colourings or additives), as well as being 100% biodegradable, sustainable, vegan and cruelty-free. Lovingly hand-blended with natural volcanic water, each ‘sponge’ has a gentle resurfacing action to polish the skin while infusing your cells with a cocktail of nourishing minerals.
The unique, net-like structure of The Elements Earth with Pure Volcanic Scoria konjac sponge has an ultra-mild exfoliating benefit – gently boosting bloodflow and encouraging cell turnover while lifting any residue or grime to leave skin peachy-clean and luminous.
Infused with volcanic scoria from the Korean island of Jeju, the mineral-rich, naturally antibacterial rock is created from magma ejected from active volcanoes and, because of its porous properties, has long been a fixture of beauty regimes where it’s loved for its shine-minimising and pore-purifying capacity. Used on its own or in tandem with your favourite cleansing formula, this is perfect for those prone to congestion - helping to loosen dulling surface cells without the risk of irritation. Sufficiently gentle for use around the eyes (the sponge is pillow-soft once dampened), each biodegradable sponge is now housed in eco-friendly (and beautifully designed!) packaging with a biodegradable cellulose acetate ‘window’ – so you can ensure that your conscience is clean as your visage.
Before use, rinse and hydrate your Konjac Sponge in warm water. Squeeze out any excess water and gently cleanse skin. It is not necessary to use cleansing products, but a small amount can be added to your Konjac Sponge if desired. If a cleanser is added, the sponge will help the product work harder and go further.
After use, always rinse your sponge well and allow to dry in an airy place. Be careful not to wring it out as this may damage the delicate plant fibres, just squeeze between your flattened hands.
You can also pop your clean sponge in the fridge to keep it fresh and cool, which helps it last even longer. Alternatively, your sponge is happy to be aired on a radiator or heated towel rail.
It will shrink and harden when it dries out, this is perfectly natural, simply allow it to absorb water and rehydrate before using again.
Never use the sponge when dry.
The better care of the sponge, the longer it will last. Never leave the sponge in the shower or in a pool of water. Your Konjac Sponge is a 100% natural vegetable product and should last two to three months. Once it starts to look tired or breaks down, replace it.
Konjac Sponges can be safely composted or used in the
